Personal Playlist by Iris (29 June 2016)

I know, there’s a lot of new music released in the past few months, and I tried to listen to most of it of course… But sometimes you’re craving some older music again! Here’s my latest playlist, containing both recent and less recent albums…

Echolyn – I Heard You Listening. A great album from a solid band, which was released in the summer of 2015. A band that really deserves the term ‘progressive’. Warjazz is one of my all time favourite tracks on that album.

 

 

Downes Braide Association – Suburban Ghosts. Another album released in 2015. Everybody knows Geoffrey Downes from Yes and Asia, and this is an album worth to check out! I wrote a review about it for Background Magazine, and I hope it will be published soon!

 

 

Ponamero Sundown – Veddesta. Again, an album released in 2015. This isn’t prog, but stoner/grunge rock. Very enjoyable and easy to listen to. You wouldn’t tell this is a band from Sweden instead of the USA!

 

 

Porcupine Tree – Coma Divine. A live album of Porcupine Tree, released back in 1997 (and re-released with extra tracks in 2003). A live recording of several gigs in Rome that same year. The live version of The Sky Moves Sideways is just phenomenal on this album!

 

 

Peter Gabriel – So… So so, a very well-known album of course. Is it prog? Come on, it’s Peter Gabriel, and that guy knows how to make refreshing music. He just released a new single named I Am Amazing, which is also very cool! Go check it out here:
