Just me with a small update again!

Standard

Hey hey! I actually wanted to post a brand new album review today, but I found out that today is also the last day to update Windows to Windows 10! … So yeah, I’m actually busy trying to get Windows 10 on my PC. I thought it would be very simple, but my computer is not really cooperating at the moment (grrrr)!

Well, what I do have to say is that you REALLY SHOULD NOT FORGET to tune in tomorrow for my VERY FIRST SHOW on ISKC Rock Radio! The interviews you will hear are with Adam Holzman (Steven Wilson, Miles Davis), and a duo interview with Michael Bearpark (Darkroom, Tim Bowness, no-man) and Elif Yalvaç (Cloudscapes). The show starts at 9 PM CET (which is 3 PM EDT, 12 PM PDT, 8 PM UK Time). There’s also a chat room that you can join here, and I will be there too of course!

I also made an event page for it on Facebook, go click on the link for more info (and don’t forget to click on ‘Interested’ or ‘Going’, so that you will get a notification an hour before the show starts): https://www.facebook.com/events/1568487020119639/

Roving reporter exciting news!

Standard

Hey! Missed me? I haven’t posted some stuff in the last two days because I enjoyed the weather and also had a lovely time with friends yesterday. Now I’m busy again, writing some reviews for Background Magazine. Some reviews are also waiting to be published, and when they are I will post them here on my website too!

Now, time for some exciting news! My first, and also brand new show will be broadcast this Saturday (July 30th) on ISKC Rock Radio, at 9 PM CET (3 PM EDT)! It’s called Backstage with Iris, and contains the usual interviews and music, just like Purple Flower Progressive Hour. The interviews you will hear this Saturday are with Adam Holzman (Steven Wilson, Miles Davis), and a duo interview with Michael Bearpark (Darkroom, Tim Bowness, no-man) and Elif Yalvaç (Cloudscapes).

No worries, Purple Flower Progressive Hour will still exist, but probably as a ‘music only’ show. I’m also busy with another show named Beyond Backstage (with Iris), where you can hear interviews with people who do music-related stuff but aren’t artists. Yes, your roving reporter is pretty busy!

Well, that was it for now! Please keep an eye on the page for more exciting news! A big hug, as always!

Adam Holzman, Live at De Twee Spieghels Leiden, 7 July 2016

Standard

Steven Wilson and band were going to perform on North Sea Jazz Festival The Netherlands on the 9th of July, but keyboardist/pianist Adam Holzman had arrived a few days earlier and was actually looking to do a solo performance somewhere in the area. Arne van Os van den Abeelen and Monica Scheepers made it possible that he could do a performance at a Jazz café named De Twee Spieghels in Leiden. I’ve never been to that café before, and have never seen Adam perform solo, so this would be something completely new for me. I did not know what to expect, so I was very curious. Continue reading

A small update from your busy reporter!

Standard

Hey! Yes, I’m still alive!! I survived my birthday yesterday, haha. I want to thank everyone for their birthday wishes! There’s also plenty of (good) stuff going on behind the scenes, so that’s also why I’m not publishing much stuff this week.

Tonight I’m going to interview the one and only Adam Holzman (Steven Wilson) after his performance in De Twee Spieghels in Leiden! If you’re in the area, go check it out!

There are more interviews planned in the upcoming weeks, so please keep an eye on the page for the latest news!

A big hug from your roving reporter!

Steven Wilson – 4 ½ (2016)

Standard

This album (EP, actually) is named 4 ½ because it is an ‘interim release’ between Steven Wilson’s fourth album Hand.Cannot.Erase and his upcoming fifth studio album. It contains songs that didn’t make it on the Hand.Cannot.Erase album which was released in 2015, plus a song that was meant for the album The Raven That Refused To Sing. A lot of members who were involved with Wilson’s solo band over the years are contributing on the album; Adam Holzman (keyboards/piano), Nick Beggs (bass/chapman stick), Guthrie Govan (guitars), Dave Kilminster (guitars), Craig Blundell (drums & percussion), Marco Minnemann (drums & percussion), Chad Wackerman (drums & percussion), and Theo Travis (flute/saxophone). It’s 37 minutes long, it could almost go for a full album. Continue reading
